Painted Mandolin is: Joe Craven--Mandolin, Fiddle, Vocals and Percussion. Joe was a member of the Garcia/Grisman Band from 1991-1994, and a member of the David Grisman Quintet, from 1989-2004. Band leader, record producer, session player, festival MC and fashion insultant, Joe has recorded and performed with many great artists for over 40 years and he is an award winning educator.

Larry Graff--Guitar  and Vocals. Larry is the founding member of the world-famous Banana Slug String Band, for 32 years the Slugs have toured North America, bringing Eco-Science to kids and families. Larry, a Deadhead for 40 years, brings experience, knowledge, passion, energy and love to the stage...every time.

Matt Hartle--Guitar, Banjotar, and Vocals. Matt is in his 5th year of residency at Grateful Sundays at Michael’s on Main with Matt Hartle and friends, where he collaborates each week with the finest Grateful Dead musicians in California, and is lead guitarist of the China Cats.  His emotive and skillful playing, leaves audiences dancing, gasping, and wondering where he is playing next! He has performed in hundreds of Grateful Dead inspired shows in the last 20 years.

Dan Robbins--Upright and Electric Bass. Dan has played and recorded in settings ranging from solos and duos to big band and orchestra. He is greatly admired for his exceptional tone and his harmonic and rhythmic sophistication... making him an in-demand bassist on stage, in the studio and as an educator.

Anthony Arya

Anthony Arya

Anthony Arya is a folk/rock performing and recording artist from Santa Cruz, California. In Fall 2018, at age 15, Anthony was a contestant on Season 15 of NBC’s The Voice. Shortly after he released his debut album Going To California. With rocking crowd favorites such as “Slow Train” and “Blues By Midnight”, Anthony quickly became one of the most popular artists in music-rich Santa Cruz, California. His music is frequently played on the iconic roots radio station KPIG.

His second album The Road, released in Spring 2020, encompasses the Beat-Dylan American traditions of love, socio-political awareness, and the open road. Fans love the upbeat rock songs “The Road” and “Moonlight” as well as the melodic folksy lyrics of “California Air” and “Sarah”. In June 2020 Anthony Arya received the prestigious award of Presidential Scholar in the Arts (category singer/songwriter) awarded by the US Department of Education.

Arya has performed hundreds of shows around the Bay Area and folks say you're likely to walk away humming one of his tunes for days after a performance. The Anthony Arya Band brings a rockin' new dimension to Arya's original music combining influences of rock, folk, and blues. His latest release, Listen to the Voice of Anthony Arya, a tribute to his Voice journey was released in June 2021. Recently Anthony was selected by Nashville’s The Bluebird Cafe for the Golden Pick Contest for his song “Jaded Rust”. “Ballad of Eugene” earned him a spot  as a finalist in the International Songwriting Competition (ISC), Americana category. You can find these songs on his third original album, "Circles & the Flames", released in May 2022. Anthony's latest release is called "As It Turns Out,"
